Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. Assisted living comes by many names, such as residential care, board and care, or group homes. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. Generally, retirement homes are designed for seniors who need minimal to moderate support with their daily living activities. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with activities of daily living. Retirement homes are also called retirement residences. Retirement homes are privately owned rental accommodations for seniors who are able to manage and pay for their own care. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care. The usual retirement home pattern is that each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. Assisted living comes by many names, such as residential care, board and care, or group homes. You have a close network of nearby family, friends, and neighbors. Some facilities provide minor help with medications as well. Retirement villages and retirement communities, unlike retirement homes, offer separate and autonomous homes for residents. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with coordination of services by outside health careproviders. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. A retirement home differs from a nursing home primarily in the level of medical care given. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with coordination of services by outside health careproviders.
