Rest Haven
A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance. Retirement villages and retirement communities, unlike retirement homes, offer separate and autonomous homes for residents. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. An assisted living facility may be a good choice if you don’t need the round-the-clock medical care and supervision of a nursing home. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with monitoring of resident activities to help to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but it’s anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. Housing arrangements for the future can be a stressful, anxiety-provoking topic for you and your family.
