Senior Housing - find independent and assisted living facilities, nursing homes, retirement communities, and other elderly care. Generally, retirement homes are designed for seniors who need minimal to moderate support with their daily living activities. Each state licensing agency has its own definition of the term it uses to describe assisted living. The usual retirement home pattern is that each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but it’s anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. An assisted living facility may be a good choice if you don’t need the round-the-clock medical care and supervision of a nursing home. Other licensure terms used for this philosophy of care include Residential Care Home, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Personal Care Homes. Staff is available twenty-four hours a day. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care. There is a wide range of home care services that can help you maintain your independence within the comfort of your own home, from in home help to day care. Retirement homes are privately owned rental accommodations for seniors who are able to manage and pay for their own care. Assistance may include the administration or supervision of medication, or personal care services provided by a trained staff person. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with coordination of services by outside health careproviders. A nursing home is a place of residence for people who require constant nursing care and have significant deficiencies with activities of daily living. Assisted living comes by many names, such as residential care, board and care, or group homes. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but it’s anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. Staff is available twenty-four hours a day.
