Retirement Homes & Senior Housing

Retirement homes are also called retirement residences. Senior Housing - find independent and assisted living facilities, nursing homes, retirement communities, and other elderly care. More than two-thirds of the states use the licensure term assisted living. A nursing home, convalescent home, Skilled Nursing Unit, care home or rest home provides a specific type of care for its residents. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with coordination of services by outside health careproviders. A retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. Some facilities provide minor help with medications as well. An assisted living facility may be a good choice if you donít need the round-the-clock medical care and supervision of a nursing home. Retirement villages and retirement communities, unlike retirement homes, offer separate and autonomous homes for residents. A place in a retirement home can be paid for on a rental basis, like an apartment, or can be bought in perpetuity on the same basis as a condominium. Retirement homes are privately owned rental accommodations for seniors who are able to manage and pay for their own care. Assisted living comes by many names, such as residential care, board and care, or group homes. Assisted Living communities are regulated and licensed at the US state level. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. Other licensure terms used for this philosophy of care include Residential Care Home, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Personal Care Homes. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care. Assisted living residences or assisted living facilities provide supervision or assistance with activities of daily living. A nursing home is a place of residence for people who require constant nursing care and have significant deficiencies with activities of daily living.
