Peace Lake Towers
Peace Lake Towers, (HUD-subsidized) is a comfortable, convenient and caring community for elderly adults on fixed incomes.
The apartments are equipped with individual heating and air conditioning systems, living room areas are carpeted and kitchenettes are equipped with refrigerators and electric ranges.
Ten percent of the units are specifically planned for the handicapped.
Each floor at Peace Lake Towers has a large common area with comfortable seating and an adjoining balcony for visiting with neighbors, enjoying table games or reading books.
Offices on the first floor offer 24-hour assistance. In addition, there are facilities for recreational activities, services and leisure. Special features include:
an arts, crafts and hobby area large community center gameroom library gift shop weekly lunch program through New Orleans Council on Aging beauty salon coin-operated laundry room outside, there's a gazebo and barbecue pitPersons 62 years of age and older, single or married, as well as the handicapped or disabled may qualify for residency. In the case of married couples, only one spouse needs to be 62 years or over. Because no medical facilities are in the complex, residents are expected to provide for their own medical needs. All residents must be physically and mentally capable of maintaining and independent lifestyle.
