Holistic Home Health Care
Retirement villages and retirement communities, unlike retirement homes, offer separate and autonomous homes for residents. Assisted living is a philosophy of care and services promoting independence and dignity. Generally, retirement homes are designed for seniors who need minimal to moderate support with their daily living activities. An assisted living facility may be a good choice if you don’t need the round-the-clock medical care and supervision of a nursing home. Independent living is a general name for any housing arrangement designed exclusively for seniors. A retirement home differs from a nursing home primarily in the level of medical care given. Nursing Home residents in a skilled nursing facility may also receive physical, occupational, and other rehabilitative therapies following an accident or illness. Assistance may include the administration or supervision of medication, or personal care services provided by a trained staff person. Other licensure terms used for this philosophy of care include Residential Care Home, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Personal Care Homes. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance. You do not need to provide medical evidence that you need a minimum level of care.
