Residents may choose from spacious studios, one or two-bedroom apartments with full kitchens.   A super-suite is also available with 1200 sq. ft. of living space!  Residents also enjoy beautifully appointed common areas such as our piano and fire place lounges, billiard and exercise room, large comfortable library, beauty parlor, residents’ laundry room, elegant dining room, television lounge, a recreation and crafts room, a general store which is open daily.  Our outside patio and gardens include a beautifully landscaped coy fish pond and the scenic Coginchaug River that runs along our back yard.

Because Heritage Commons is a rental community, no purchase is necessary.  There are no application fees or hidden charges.  Your monthly rent includes almost everything – delicious evening meals served in our elegant dining room, weekly housekeeping and bed linen service, convenient daily transportation, 24-hour security, emergency call system in your apartment, and of course an extensive activity and entertainment program that appeals to all residents.

 Heritage Commons is located just a few minutes away from shopping, banks restaurants, theaters, doctors’ offices and hospitals and convenient to Routes 9, Interstate 91, Interstate 84, and the Merritt Parkway.  We are also conveniently located next door to Wadsworth Glen, a leading skilled nursing and rehabilitative facility owned and operated by Athena Health Care.  We share a common philosophy of providing the highest quality services and accommodations for seniors.  Our close proximity allows Heritage Commons residents who require short or long-term care, a convenient choice right next door. 

In addition, Heritage Commons offers residents a variety of personal care services for those who need additional help with activities of daily living.  We can coordinate and facilitate personal care services through a variety of home care companies, including Premier Home Health Care of Connecticut, Sharon’s Home Care Services, and HomeCare Connections.  Services provided range from simple medication reminders, laundry services, or bathing assistance with service levels up to 24-hour live-in companions or home health aides.  This allows our residents to live in the comfort our community for as long as they wish.

Heritage Commons is also home to our DayTymers Social Club, which is an adult day care program offering Middletown area residents a safe, mentally and physically stimulating program for seniors who have early memory loss or seniors who would benefit from social interaction with their peers.  The program operates daily Monday through Friday.  Our members enjoy a variety of supervised activities, entertainment, and social time and individual attention by an experienced and caring staff.  Members may choose their schedule from half days up to 5 full days weekly. Transportation, lunch and snacks are included in the program.  And the DayTymers Social Club is certified by the Connecticut Association of Adult Day Care Centers and works with the Connecticut Agency on Aging.
