A nursing home, convalescent home, Skilled Nursing Unit, care home or rest home provides a specific type of care for its residents. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but its anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. More than two-thirds of the states use the licensure term assisted living. A nursing home is a place of residence for people who require constant nursing care and have significant deficiencies with activities of daily living. Nursing Home residents include the elderly and younger adults with physical or mental disabilities. Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. Assisted living emerged in the 1990s as an eldercare alternative on the continuum of care for seniors for whom Independent living is no longer appropriate but who do not need the 24-hour medical care provided by a nursing home. Housing arrangements for the future can be a stressful, anxiety-provoking topic for you and your family.

PEOPLE…PEOPLE…PEOPLE…
Some are tall and slim
Some are short and stout…
Some are gals and some are men…
It’s great being one of them!
(P.S. –I’m a gal!)

My wife died in 2007. I lived alone for three years. I moved in here on January 5th, 2010 because I heard this was the best place in the area. I remain here because Freedom Village satisfies my needs—clean shelter, good food and friendly faces. I like places and I love members of the opposite sex!

I like being here. The food is great. The variety, the planning, the monitoring, and someone is available at all times to take care of you. The dining hall was recently upgraded. The hallways are being done now. The checkup every morning is ongoing & obtrusive. The entertainment is so extensive, and most of it free! My daughter wanted me monitored and now I am monitored and I like it!

We love Freedom Village for the following reasons: management is superb. They are fair, honest, reliable and knowledgeable in all areas.
Dinning Room: Service attendants, meals, and assistance is the best we could ever want.
Maintenance, activities, medical, transportation, and all other services are efficient, helpful and knowledgeable.
Apartments are clean, homey and comfortable. Only area of minor discomfort is noises and disturbances due to locations of noisy facilities located above and next to certain apartments. Thank you.

I really believe that you cannot find another place like this. I looked & found others were depressing—you feel trapped—as if you have lost your freedom. Never have I seen so many happy old people like we have here. I love it.
