Assisted living comes by many names, such as residential care, board and care, or group homes. Retirement homes are also called retirement residences. Staff is available twenty-four hours a day. Retirement homes are privately owned rental accommodations for seniors who are able to manage and pay for their own care. The usual retirement home pattern is that each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. There is a wide range of home care services that can help you maintain your independence within the comfort of your own home, from in home help to day care. Some facilities provide minor help with medications as well.
