Independent Living Communities enable residents to live as independently as possible, while providing certain services and social activities. A nursing home may be a good choice if you need a higher level of care temporarily after a hospitalization, but itís anticipated you will be able to return to home or another facility after a period of time. You have a close network of nearby family, friends, and neighbors. The housing is friendlier to older adults, more compact, with easier navigation and assistance in outside maintenance. A nursing home is normally the highest level of care for older adults outside of a hospital. More than two-thirds of the states use the licensure term assisted living. An assisted living facility may be a good choice if you need more personal care services than are feasible at home or in an independent living retirement community. Each state licensing agency has its own definition of the term it uses to describe assisted living. Housing arrangements for the future can be a stressful, anxiety-provoking topic for you and your family. Assisted living emerged in the 1990s as an eldercare alternative on the continuum of care for seniors for whom Independent living is no longer appropriate but who do not need the 24-hour medical care provided by a nursing home. Assisted Living communities are regulated and licensed at the US state level.

My brother and I went on a tour of your facility in mid December 2013. I was impressed by the décor, the rooms and the staff that we met. Every question we had was answered professionally and you seem to have everything covered, from rides to church and grocery stores to help with prescriptions etc.

Fortunately our mother is doing much better and is still able to live in her condo for now. As beautiful as your facility is, it is always a huge transition for seniors to up and move somewhere new. So to have her able to stay in the home she has had for the last 8 years is in my eye a very good thing.

If I had a suggestion, it would be to have available some form of counselling for the seniors who are transitioning from there homes, where most have lived for many years, to a facility for assisted living.

Ive toured many senior facilitiesand Rutherford is welljust awesome . TASTEFULLY DECORATED.... To please all types of people. The staff very friendly and compedent. This always is on my list when looking for accomidation and care for our senior family and friends. although a bit pricy but not that much more you get what you pay for.The one we chose for our mom met the same requrements (which a lot don't) and it was closer to our homes.
